What is Protien?

Proteins are macromolecules ,they are polymers of amino acids. They form the building blocks of our body .We promote vegetarian diet plans so proteins are present in vegetarian food as well. NO TO MEAT. Proteins are primary constituents of our body required in adequate and regular quantity for proper cell integrity and metabolism .

An average a man requires is about 70-100gm of protein per day in the diet. Protein are constantly degraded in the cells by protein metabolism .It is done with the help of proteases enzymes of the body. With the help of that enzymes in our body the protein is broken down into amino acids which make up the muscle and strong tendons.

Malnutrition of protein has been observed in many underdeveloped countries leading to kwashiorkor and marasmus. Essential amino acids are 10 which has to be supplied throught diet. Non essential amino acids can be synthesized by our own body.

Proteins are required for growth and development of bones Its present in pulses, soya ,bean, milk, dairy products.
